My vision of BTK Datathon 2024
Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I shared a post, but today I’m excited to talk about my experience participating in the BTK Academy Datathon 2024, organized in collaboration with Google and the Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation. I’d like to share my personal insights and what I’ve learned throughout this journey. First and foremost, I’d like to thank BTK Academy for organizing this datathon, which has been an excellent opportunity for self-improvement. I learned a great deal in a limited time. Every data scientist should participate in datathons, as the time pressure opens up your mind to learning quickly, and applying that knowledge helps reinforce it effectively.
So, what was our task in this datathon?
We analyzed the Entrepreneurship Foundation’s application data from 2014 onwards. In the train.csv file, there were anonymized records of applicants, including a “Değerlendirme Puanı” (Evaluation Score) column. In addition, the test_x.csv file contained data for 11,049 applicants from 2023, but their “Değerlendirme Puanı” was missing. The goal was to predict the scores for these 11,049 applicants.
The test_x.csv file contained the applicants in a specific order, and our task was to submit a sample_submission.csv file containing their IDs and predicted scores, with 11,049 entries, matching the given order.
